Round 4: The Games That Define the Promotion Race

In an exciting round of Brazilian Serie B action, Ceará and Vila Nova both capitalized on their latest victories to significantly boost their promotion prospects. Ceará's narrow 1-0 win over Náutico propelled them to the top spot in the league standings, tied on points with Avaí but leading on goal difference. This crucial victory has seen their promotion chances climb by 7.3%, now sitting at 30.4%. Meanwhile, Vila Nova's 1-0 away triumph over Ponte Preta has lifted their promotion probability by 7.2%, now at 30.2%, and moved them up to third place.

Juventude also had a day to celebrate with a decisive 2-0 win against Goiás, which not only lifted them from the relegation zone up to the 14th position but also slashed their relegation odds by 8.3% to 23.8%. Their prospects of promotion have improved to 14.6%, marking a positive turn for the team early in the season.

On the flip side, Goiás suffered a setback as their loss to Juventude saw their promotion chances dip by 6.5% to 26.0%. Despite this, they remain in a competitive fifth position, just outside the promotion spots. Ponte Preta's continued struggles were evident in their drop to the bottom of the table, with their relegation probability increasing by 6.9% to 38.5%.

As the league progresses, all eyes will be on Ceará and Vila Nova to see if they can maintain their momentum in the upcoming fixtures, while Goiás will aim to recover and stay in the promotion race.
